About William Hornbaker

Welcome to MyResumeStuff.com! The purpose of this portfolio is to demonstrate my ability to apply web technologies such as PHP, MySQL and JavaScript for large-scale websites and light-weight digital learning objects. I wrote each of these examples from scratch using little more than Windows Notepad. While I am able to incorporate off-the-shelf CMS software, I am also capable of writing specialized content management systems.

Both the ASDM Digital Library and the Astronomy Launchpad examples use PHP and MySQL on an Apache server. The ASDM Digital Library will demonstrate a professional database-driven website that implements many technologies, such as an AJAX autosuggest box and advanced search engine designs. The Astronomy Launchpad examples will demonstrate my ability to translate numeric data into celestial maps in multiple projections. I am able to draw on my years of advanced mathematics to transform, translate and warp coordinate systems as needed.

The remaining pages will show my ability to write lightweight JavaScript applications to manipulate text and formulae, as well as 2D and 3D images.
