Logpad App

In January of 2014, I began working on the LogPad App team at PHT Corp. This was a Single Page Application (SPA) written in JavaScript using Backbone and jQuery Mobile. The application was wrapped in PhoneGap so that it would work like a native App on Android devices. While working on this project, I implemented a barcode scanner, which required tweaking some of the Java code in the scanner code, as well as creating a workaround for the defective AppCache in Android 4.4′s Webview.

The LogPad App was intended for recording patient reported outcomes in clinical trials. This project had the rather unusual requirement that it had to be able to work independently for extended periods without a network connection. When a connection was available, it would check for updates and send back any user generated data. This application made heavy use of the localStorage and WebSQL databases, as well as some of the native hardware.
